Sacramento, CA (September 5, 2026) – One person was injured early Friday after a hit-and-run on westbound I-80 near Highway 51 in Sacramento.
The incident was reported shortly after midnight. A vehicle was found on the shoulder, and a California Highway Patrol unit followed a person involved in the incident toward the Watt Ave exit.
At 1:28 a.m., the call was changed from a hit-and-run without injuries to one involving injuries. Officers later believed they had located the suspected vehicle southbound near Fulton Ave.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances. We hope the injured person makes a full recovery.
