Honolulu, HI (August 3, 2026) – One person was injured on Sunday, August 2, in a three-vehicle collision on Moanalua Freeway. The vehicles came together shortly before 1:00 p.m. near the Kahuapaani Overpass and Exit 1C at the Halawa interchange.
Witnesses reported that a black SUV became lodged on the freeway median after being struck from behind. The initial account did not describe how the third vehicle became involved.
Emergency units took one person to a hospital with minor injuries. No identities or further medical details were released.
Three lanes were temporarily blocked while crews removed the vehicles. All lanes reopened around 2:15 p.m. after towing work was completed. The cause of the crash remains under review.
