Lewisburg, TN (July 2, 2026) – One woman was injured on Tuesday, June 30, after being hit by a vehicle in Lewisburg.
The Lewisburg police said officers were called to Maple Grove Apartments in the 1200 block of South Ellington Parkway for a crash report. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot.
Detectives said her injuries were not considered life-threatening. She was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigators identified the driver as Leonard C. Jones of Lewisburg. Police later located the vehicle at Hillside Terrace Apartments on Glenn Avenue and said a pursuit began when officers attempted a traffic stop.
The chase ended because of safety concerns, according to police. Officers later found the vehicle on New Lake Road. The Lewisburg case remains under investigation as officials work to confirm the full sequence.
We hope the injured woman receives the care needed and recovers fully.
Parking Lot Crashes Can Still Cause Serious Injuries
Parking lot crashes may happen at lower speeds than roadway collisions, but they can still leave people hurt. Pedestrians have little protection when they are hit by a moving vehicle, even in apartment complexes or private lots.
These crashes may involve close vehicle movement, parked cars, limited sight lines, and people walking near buildings or driveways. A driver may have little room to maneuver, while a pedestrian may have few ways to avoid contact.
When a parking lot crash involves additional police activity, investigators usually review vehicle movement, witness accounts, property damage, surveillance video, and the sequence before and after the collision. Those details help explain how the injury occurred and what happened afterward.
