Platte City, MO (September 8, 2026) – A 26-year-old man was injured Sunday, September 6, after two vehicles collided on northbound I-29 at mile marker 15. The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. in Platte County.
A 2020 Freightliner was changing lanes when it struck a northbound 2015 Nissan Altima, according to the crash report. The Nissan then left the left side of the highway and came to rest in the median.
The Altima driver, a 26-year-old man from Ferrelview, Missouri, had minor injuries. EMS took him to North Kansas City Hospital.
The Nissan sustained extensive damage and was towed from the highway. The Freightliner had minor damage and was driven away from the site.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. We hope the injured driver has a smooth recovery.
