Paxton Township, OH (August 5, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on State Route 41 near milepost 2 left one man dead and another person hurt on Monday afternoon. The crash was reported around 4:13 p.m.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Vernon Holbert, 62, of Waverly, was driving a 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo northwest on SR 41 when he failed to navigate a curve. The vehicle crossed left of center and struck a 2017 GMC Sierra driven by Kenton Weaver, 29, of Bainbridge.
Holbert died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Weaver sustained minor injuries, and no other occupants were involved in the collision. SR 41 South was closed for about three hours while the crash was reviewed.
