Nashville, TN (August 22, 2026) – One person died early on Friday, August 21, after a vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 24 East in Antioch.
The collision happened shortly after midnight near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit ramp. The vehicle caught fire on the interstate after striking the tractor-trailer, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
All eastbound lanes were closed while crews removed the wreckage and examined the roadway. Traffic backed up for miles, with drivers diverted onto Hickory Hollow Parkway. The investigation into the fatal accident is continuing.
