Commercial Vehicle Crashes May Have Serious Consequences
Collisions of large commercial trucks result in significant roadway disruptions and severe outcomes due to the size and weight differences between tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles. These crashes frequently require extended investigations and lengthy road closures while emergency crews and investigators process the scene.
Investigators examine factors such as vehicle speeds, driver actions, roadway conditions, visibility, and mechanical issues to determine what contributed to a crash. Information gathered during these investigations helps authorities establish the sequence of events and identify potential contributing factors.
Motorists are encouraged to remain attentive around commercial vehicles, allow adequate following distance, and exercise caution when traveling on busy highways.
