Logan County, OH (August 13, 2026) – One person died, and another was hurt on Thursday morning after two vehicles collided at SR 235 and County Road 13. The Ohio State Highway Patrol received notification of the accident at about 5:44 a.m.
Aaron Taylor, 54, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup northbound on SR 235. Jason Honeycutt, 51, also of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2012 Honda Odyssey westbound on County Road 13.
The preliminary investigation found that the Honda entered Taylor’s path after failing to stop at the intersection’s stop sign. Both vehicles left the west side of the roadway and came to rest in a private gravel drive.
Honeycutt was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and heavy fog is believed to have contributed to the accident.
The intersection remained closed for about two hours while emergency units worked in the area. The investigation into the fatal wreck is continuing, with additional findings expected as the examination proceeds.

How Fog Can Increase Risks at Rural Intersections
Heavy fog can sharply reduce visibility for drivers, particularly during early morning hours. It can make signs, approaching vehicles, roadway markings, and intersections harder to see from a safe distance.
Drivers may need more time to recognize a stop sign or determine whether another vehicle is approaching. Reduced visibility can also make it harder to judge traffic speed and distance at a crossroad.
Lowering speed and increasing following distance can give drivers more time to react when visibility is poor. Headlights should be used as required, while drivers should avoid relying on high beams when fog reflects light toward the vehicle.
At intersections, drivers should approach cautiously and make sure they have a clear view before entering another roadway. Seat belts also provide important protection when a vehicle leaves the road or strikes another vehicle.
