What Investigators Review in Two-Person Injury Crashes
When a crash results in one fatality and one survivor, investigators typically focus on vehicle positioning, impact dynamics, and driver actions leading up to the collision. These elements help establish how the crash unfolded and why outcomes differed between occupants.
They also examine roadway conditions, speed, and any potential contributing factors such as distraction or impairment. Physical evidence, including vehicle damage patterns and debris distribution, is used alongside witness accounts to reconstruct the sequence of events.
