What Can Happen After a Serious Interstate Crash?
Serious interstate crashes can cause significant traffic disruptions because highways carry large volumes of vehicles at higher speeds. A closed ramp or travel lane can also create congestion as drivers are redirected through other routes.
Several types of information may help explain how a highway crash occurred. Vehicle damage, roadway markings, traffic conditions, visibility, and witness accounts can provide useful details. Nearby cameras or dashcam recordings may also show vehicle movements before the collision.
Medical evaluation is usually needed after a serious crash. Some injuries may not be immediately obvious, so doctors may monitor a person for signs of head, spinal, or internal trauma.
