Liberty, MO (August 4, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer left one person seriously hurt on Monday morning on the northbound Interstate 35 near Liberty. The accident happened at about 10 a.m. just past U.S. 69 Hwy.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and three other vehicles about a mile north of Liberty Hospital. Fuel spilled onto the highway, leading to the closure of the northbound lanes while emergency units worked on-site.
One person was reported to have serious injuries. No information about that person’s identity or current medical status was released, and the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
Traffic was diverted onto the highway shoulder while crews cleared the roadway, and drivers were encouraged to use alternate routes.
