ONTARIO, San Bernardino County, Calif., Oct. 16, 2026 — A car crashed into a box truck and rolled over on westbound Interstate 10 near the Interstate 15 interchange on Thursday morning, October 15. The crash blocked multiple lanes and prompted a SigAlert that closed part of the freeway for about an hour.
The California Highway Patrol said a silver sedan collided with a box truck and overturned, coming to rest blocking the second and third lanes. Bystanders described in radio traffic as "good Samaritans" worked with Ontario Fire personnel to pull occupants from the vehicle before crews arrived.
Ontario Fire units responded to the scene and reported a fuel spill from the wreck, which was later contained. A separate two-vehicle crash involving a transit bus was also logged nearby around the same time with a minor injury reported, though it was not immediately clear whether it was connected to the freeway backup.
The CHP issued a SigAlert affecting one to two lanes for roughly an hour before all lanes were reported clear. The overturned sedan was eventually towed from the scene. The extent of injuries to those involved has not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
We hope those who were hurt recover fully and quickly.
