Orange, FL (September 2, 2026) – A woman died and three other people were seriously hurt after a crash at an intersection on East Colonial Drive, according to authorities. The collision reportedly occurred on Sunday night, August 30, at the intersection with Sherman Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:28 p.m. as a 37-year-old Orlando woman was stopped in a westbound left-turn lane in an SUV. Troopers said that as she attempted to turn left onto Sherman Street, her vehicle reportedly moved into the path of an eastbound sedan. The front of the sedan struck the right side of the SUV, causing it to overturn, authorities said.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene or shortly after, according to troopers. The sedan’s driver, a 21-year-old, and two male passengers, ages 16 and 19, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. All four people involved were reportedly from Orlando.
Authorities said the FHP report indicated that none of the occupants was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. All eastbound lanes of East Colonial Drive were closed during the on-scene investigation, according to officials.
Troopers have not released the names of those involved, and the crash remains under investigation, authorities said.
