Why E-Bike Riders Face Serious Risks in Multi-Vehicle Crashes
E-bike riders share many of the same vulnerabilities as traditional cyclists. Without the protection of a vehicle frame, even a single impact can lead to severe injuries.
When a rider is thrown into traffic, the risk increases significantly. Busy corridors like Saviers Rd can carry steady evening traffic, leaving little time for other drivers to react. Secondary impacts often result in more serious outcomes.
Hit-and-run cases involving cyclists add further concern. Identifying the fleeing vehicle is often a key part of the investigation. As e-bikes become more common in urban areas, awareness among drivers and riders remains an important factor in reducing serious crashes.
