Ozark, MO (March 31, 2026) – Two people were injured on Monday morning in a crash on Highway J south of Ozark involving a truck and an SUV.
The collision occurred around 7:45 a.m. on March 30 when a northbound 2022 Mack Granite truck ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and struck a southbound 2025 Toyota RAV4. The truck then overturned as a result of the impact.
The truck’s 42-year-old driver from Mountain Home, Arkansas, was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. The RAV4’s 54-year-old driver from Gainesville also suffered moderate injuries.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
Why Truck and SUV Collisions Can Result in Serious Injuries
Crashes involving large trucks and smaller vehicles can cause significant harm due to differences in size, weight, and momentum. When a truck overcorrects or overturns, the sudden movement increases the risk of injury for both drivers.
Seat belts play a critical role in reducing harm, especially during rollovers or abrupt impacts. Even moderate-speed collisions can result in serious injuries if occupants are unrestrained or if vehicles overturn.
Emergency crews often respond quickly to such crashes to provide medical attention and safely transport injured individuals to hospitals, as roadway conditions and vehicle damage can complicate on-scene care.
