Palm Beach Co, FL (January 11, 2026) – A 26-year-old man was killed in a violent three-vehicle crash late on Friday night on Southern Boulevard near Jog Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. on January 9. Investigators say Taylor Alvarez was driving a Chevy pickup eastbound on Southern Blvd when he attempted to speed past two other vehicles. His truck collided with both vehicles, a 2025 Mercedes-Benz and a 2013 Volkswagen GLI, before veering into a guardrail, overturning, and slamming into a streetlight pole.
Alvarez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities noted that his residential information was not listed in the crash report.
The drivers of the Mercedes and Volkswagen, as well as a passenger in the Mercedes, were wearing seatbelts and did not sustain injuries.
Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office closed sections of Southern Blvd in the area near Okeeheelee Park while they investigated the scene and cleared debris. The crash remains under active investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Taylor Alvarez during this tragic time.
