Palm City, FL (January 14, 2026) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning at the intersection of Martin Downs Blvd and Mapp Rd, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on January 13. Emergency responders arrived quickly and determined that the injured pedestrian, an adult, required air transport due to the severity of the injuries. The individual was flown to a local hospital for further treatment.
Traffic in the area was delayed during the morning hours as authorities worked the scene. Deputies from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office secured the intersection and later turned the investigation over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
