Frequently Asked Questions
Why is distracted driving a common factor in crashes like this?
Even a few seconds of looking away from the road, at a phone, a dashboard screen, or elsewhere, can mean missing a stopped vehicle, a turning car, or a stop sign until it's too late to react.
How do road and weather conditions play into collisions on highways like Angeles Forest Hwy?
Mountain and canyon roads often have sharper curves, changing light conditions, and limited shoulders, all of which can make it harder for drivers to judge speed and distance, especially during early morning hours.
What should I do right after a car accident?
Move to a safe spot if possible, check for injuries, call 911, and exchange information with the other driver. Even if injuries seem minor, it's wise to get checked by a medical provider, since some injuries don't show symptoms right away.
