Parrish, FL (January 23, 2026) – A 62-year-old man from Virginia was killed Thursday afternoon in a collision between his motorcycle and a dump truck at a Manatee County intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place around 12:16 p.m. at the intersection of Creekside Park Drive and Golf Course Road in Parrish. Troopers reported that both the motorcycle and the dump truck were heading west on Golf Course Rd when the motorcyclist slowed down near the intersection and attempted to pass the dump truck by moving into the eastbound lane.
At that same moment, the dump truck began a left turn, entering the path of the passing motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the left side of the truck, resulting in a violent impact that left the rider critically injured.
The motorcyclist was airlifted by Bayflite to Tampa General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the dump truck, a 54-year-old man from Plant City, was uninjured in the crash and was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
FHP’s Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating the crash to determine whether any charges or violations will be issued.
