How Do Construction Site Fall Injuries Usually Happen?
Falls at construction sites can happen in many ways, especially when work takes place near holes, trenches, elevated surfaces, or unfinished structures. Openings in the ground may be hard to see if they are not clearly marked or protected. A fall into a deep space can lead to serious harm because the person may hit the sides or bottom with force.
Rescue efforts can also be complex when someone is trapped underground. Crews may need ropes, lifting tools, or heavy equipment to safely reach the person. Medical teams often check for head, back, chest, and limb injuries after these falls. Even when a person is alert, hospital care may be needed to rule out hidden trauma.
