Des Moines, IA (July 3, 2026) – A man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning at an intersection in Des Moines.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on July 2 at the intersection of Southeast 5th Street and Watrous Avenue. Police and fire crews responded after receiving a 911 call reporting that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
Authorities identified the victim only as an adult man. He sustained critical injuries in the collision. Additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash have not been released.
