Perry Township, OH (June 21, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 45 near mile marker 23 in Perry Township.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19. The investigation reported that a 1994 Oldsmobile traveling north on the roadway went off the right side of the road and struck a pedestrian identified as 35-year-old Amanda Speigle of Salem.
Speigle suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. She later died from her injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Steubenville, was not injured in the crash.
