Durham, NC (July 29, 2026) – A pedestrian succumbed to injuries after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 885 North near mile marker 12 in Durham late Monday night, July 27.
The crash happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. when the pedestrian was walking northwest across the lanes of the interstate. According to police, the pedestrian was first struck in the middle lane by a northbound 2018 Nissan Versa. At least two additional vehicles then struck the pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the crash location.
