Stockton, CA (July 22, 2026) – A pedestrian was hurt after being struck by a vehicle on July 21 on the eastbound SR-4 just east of S Sinclair Avenue in Stockton.
According to CHP dispatch reports, the call came in at about 5:21 a.m. Initial information indicated that the reporting party remained inside the vehicle and was in shock after the person was hit. The pedestrian was initially difficult to locate before being found lying in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Emergency units arrived and confirmed that the person had suffered a head injury. The vehicle involved, described as a silver Kia, stopped on the right shoulder with its hazard lights activated. The report was later upgraded to a major injury collision as crews worked on the roadway.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and the investigation is continuing as more information becomes available.
