Blythe, CA (July 15, 2026) – A pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run along I-10 near the Poe Inspection Station west of Blythe on July 10.
California Highway Patrol reports indicate the person was struck by a vehicle near Mile Marker 156.1 before the driver left the roadway. Dispatch records show the injured man was first taken to Blythe Airport, where he was transferred by air to a regional hospital for additional treatment. Later updates indicated he was ultimately taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Emergency units worked at the site while investigators gathered information about the vehicle involved. Dispatch records also noted that the suspected vehicle was connected to a separate law enforcement investigation and that one person was later taken into custody. However, officials have not confirmed whether that person faces charges related to the hit-and-run. The injured man’s current medical status has not been released.
