San Diego, CA (June 7, 2026) – A collision involving a 65-year-old woman and a vehicle was reported shortly after midnight near El Cajon Boulevard and Hamilton Street in the North Park neighborhood. The woman was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle traveling at an estimated 30 mph.
The woman was thrown onto the hood before landing in the roadway, according to witness information and emergency communications. She was taken to a local trauma center with a significant left knee injury believed to include a possible fracture, along with a head injury.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The vehicle displayed an Uber sticker, though it was not confirmed whether the driver was working as a rideshare operator at the time.
El Cajon Boulevard between Oregon Street and Texas Street was closed for several hours while emergency units worked in the roadway and investigators gathered evidence. The woman’s current medical status had not been released as of this report.
Investigators are continuing to examine the cause of the crash and whether impairment contributed to the accident.
