Stanislaus County, CA (September 4, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a sedan early Wednesday morning on northbound Highway 99 just south of Carpenter Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the sedan was traveling about 65 mph when it struck a man who was crossing the highway. The collision occurred around 1:34 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The sedan driver was not hurt. CHP said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have contributed to the collision.
The deceased man’s identity will be released after confirmation by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing. Our condolences go to the man’s family and loved ones.
