Las Vegas, NV (August 31, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed early on Saturday morning, August 29, after being struck by a vehicle on West Tropicana Avenue west of South Edmond Street in Las Vegas. Police responded at approximately 2:19 a.m.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing northbound outside a marked or implied crosswalk when he entered the path of an eastbound 2013 Nissan Juke.
The police said the front of the SUV struck the pedestrian and projected him onto the roadway. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene. Authorities said the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested on DUI-related charges. The collision is still under review.
