Corpus Christi, TX (August 1, 2026) – A 60-year-old man lost his life after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross Kostoryz Rd in Corpus Christi early on Friday morning.
The fatal collision occurred around 6:32 a.m. in the 4300 block of Kostoryz Rd. The police said the man was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling along the road. The force of the collision threw him into the northbound lanes, where a second vehicle also struck him.
The man was pronounced dead after officers and paramedics arrived. Detectives said both drivers remained at the roadway and cooperated with investigators. The investigation determined the pedestrian was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk and was at fault for the accident. Alcohol was not considered a factor.
The investigation into the wreck remains active as investigators complete their review.
