Tallahassee, FL (July 30, 2026) – A 78-year-old Tallahassee resident lost their life after being struck by a sedan on Tuesday evening on Veterans Memorial Hwy in Leon County. The collision happened around 5:50 p.m. near 10470 Veterans Memorial Hwy.
According to investigators, the pedestrian was crossing from the east shoulder to the west shoulder when a southbound sedan hit the person in the travel lane. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the site of the wreck.
The sedan driver, a 36-year-old from Metcalf, Georgia, received minor injuries. No additional information about the people involved has been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation as officials continue to gather evidence.
