Paris, IL (July 14, 2026) – A Paris man lost his life after a pedestrian accident early on Sunday morning on Illinois Rte 1 near Roberts St in Paris. The fatal wreck was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m.
According to the Edgar County Coroner, 43-year-old Jason A. Lister was found after a northbound 2013 Lincoln sedan struck him while he was in the roadway near Roberts St. Lister was taken to Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Lincoln was identified only as a Vermilion County resident. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, July 13. Additional details about the collision had not been released at the time of publication. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
