Chicago, IL (July 28, 2026) – A 63-year-old man was killed after being struck by an SUV Sunday night in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago. The accident happened around 10:47 p.m. in the 5100 block of S Western Avenue.
Police said a gray SUV was traveling south on S Western Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck the pedestrian. After hitting the man, the SUV lost control and crashed.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver was not injured, and the driver’s identity was not released. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing as investigators review what led to the crash.
