Wilmington, NC (June 16, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Wilmington early on Sunday morning, June 14.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3:46 a.m. to the area of South Kerr Avenue and Patrick Avenue following reports of a pedestrian crash. Investigators said a food delivery driver was traveling northbound on South Kerr Avenue when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
Authorities said the man was walking with two friends at the time of the incident. Preliminary findings indicate he was in the roadway when he was hit. The 22-year-old was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His identity has not been released, and his current condition has not been updated.
