Orangeburg County, SC (July 25, 2026) – A 62-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing US 21 in Orangeburg County on Thursday afternoon, July 23. The crash happened around 3:20 p.m.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2021 Honda Ridgeline was traveling north on US 21 when it struck Cecil F. Jamison of Columbia as he was walking east across the roadway. Jamison was taken to MUSC Health Orangeburg, where he later died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash, according to the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office.
No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash were immediately released. The incident remains under review by authorities.
