Lexington County, SC (August 29, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on South Lake Drive near Daralynn Drive in Lexington County on Friday, August 28. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking for help identifying the driver involved.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2012 to 2019 Ford Taurus was traveling west on South Lake Drive when it struck the pedestrian. The vehicle then reportedly continued west toward Red Bank. The color of the vehicle was not known when the investigation was announced.
Troopers said the vehicle should have damage on its passenger side and released a photo of a Ford Taurus matching the reported make and model. The available information did not provide the pedestrian’s age, identity, or condition. The hit-and-run remains under investigation. Our thoughts are with the injured pedestrian.
