Jefferson County, MO (June 13, 2026) – Medical Units responded to the scene of an accident, where a pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Jefferson County on Thursday afternoon, June 11.
Crews were dispatched to Athena School Road southbound just south of Armbruster Road at approximately 3:25 p.m. Early reports showed that a 58-year-old man from Hillsboro was driving a GMC Sierra northbound when a pedestrian began crossing into the roadway.
The report stated that the driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian by moving into the southbound lane. During the maneuver, the vehicle’s right-side mirror struck a 76-year-old woman from De Soto. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The driver was not reported injured and left the scene in the vehicle.
Investigators are actively investigating the circumstances of the crash.
