What Factors Are Commonly Reviewed in Semi vs. Passenger Vehicle Crashes?
Crashes involving large commercial trucks and passenger vehicles can result in severe impacts due to the size and weight difference between the vehicles. Investigators typically review right-of-way decisions, vehicle entry points, and traffic patterns leading up to the collision.
Attention is also given to driver visibility, reaction time, and roadway design at intersections or merge points. Physical evidence such as vehicle damage, skid marks, and final resting positions can help reconstruct how the crash occurred. In cases involving serious injury, medical reports and witness statements may also provide important context. These findings help clarify the sequence of events and contributing factors in the collision.
