Bernie, MO (June 13, 2026) – Official reports stated that a three-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 25 north of Bernie left one woman seriously injured on Thursday morning, June 12.

First responders were called to MO-25 about 2 miles north of Bernie at approximately 9:55 a.m. Early reports stated that a Nissan Kicks was stopped in traffic attempting a left-hand turn when it was struck from behind by a Buick Regal.

After the initial impact, the Buick traveled off the right side of the roadway while the Nissan Kicks moved into the opposite lane, where it was struck again by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound.

The 58-year-old woman driving the Nissan Kicks, from Bloomfield, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment. Officials confirmed she was also listed as an occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

All vehicles involved were heavily damaged and removed from the scene by towing services. No additional injuries were immediately reported.

What Factors Are Commonly Reviewed in Multi-Vehicle Rear-End Chain Crashes?

Multi-vehicle rear-end crashes involve a sequence of impacts that can make reconstruction more complex. Investigators typically examine the position of each vehicle before the first impact, along with traffic flow and stopping conditions.

Attention is often given to following distance, reaction time, and whether vehicles were stopped or slowing for turns or congestion. Roadway layout and lane changes after the initial collision can also influence how secondary impacts occur. Physical evidence such as damage patterns, debris fields, and skid marks helps determine the order of events. These findings assist in understanding how the crash developed and what contributed to the injuries reported.
