Escondido, CA (August 4, 2026) – One person was hurt in a hit-and-run reported on August 2 near the intersection of Rock Springs Road and Montiel Road in Escondido.
According to dispatch information, the call came in shortly after 9:00 p.m. One of the vehicles involved was reportedly disabled, and the reporting party told dispatch they were not inside the vehicle when the collision occurred. Emergency units were notified, and the reporting party also arranged for a private tow truck.
The suspected vehicle was last seen traveling down Montiel Road toward Costco. Later updates indicated the suspected vehicle was found parked near Leora Lane and Montiel Road, where the driver had reportedly left the vehicle and departed on foot. No descriptions of the person or additional identifying details were immediately released.
