Overland Park, KS (August 11, 2026) – Firefighters rescued a resident on Sunday morning, August 9, after a house fire broke out near 100th Street and Goodman in Overland Park.
Firefighters responded shortly after 8 a.m. and found light smoke coming from the roof of the home. While searching the house, crews located a resident with mobility issues and safely evacuated the person. The resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters found the bulk of the fire in a first-floor bathroom and brought the flames under control in about 30 minutes. The rest of the home sustained moderate smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. We wish all those injured a speedy recovery.
