Pedestrian Safety at Busy Intersections
Pedestrians should use marked crossings and follow traffic signals when walking near busy intersections. Making eye contact with drivers can also help confirm that a vehicle has noticed them before crossing.
Drivers should slow down when approaching intersections and watch carefully for people crossing the roadway. Extra caution is especially important when visibility is limited or traffic is moving through multiple lanes.
Both drivers and pedestrians can reduce risks by staying alert and avoiding distractions. Allowing additional time to react can help prevent serious injuries when traffic patterns change unexpectedly.
