Philadelphia, PA (January 12, 2026) – A 74-year-old man sustained injuries in a motor vehicle crash near N Broad St on January 12 and was transported to Temple University Hospital for trauma care. Medic 57 reported the patient was unrestrained at the time of the collision and is currently on blood thinners, increasing concern for internal injuries.
Despite these risks, the man’s vital signs were reported as stable during transport. He remained conscious as medics continued to monitor his condition en route to the emergency room, with an estimated arrival time of eight minutes.
Details surrounding the cause of the crash have not yet been released, and it remains unclear whether other vehicles were involved or if this was a single-vehicle incident. The fact that the patient was not wearing a seatbelt and was on medication that can increase bleeding risk prompted trauma team activation upon his arrival.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances of the crash further.
We send our sincere wishes for the man’s full recovery and strength to his loved ones during this time.
