Phoenix, AZ (January 14, 2026) – A serious collision involving a gray sedan and a semi-truck towing a chipper trailer occurred early Wednesday morning on Grand Avenue, leaving one person injured and causing significant traffic disruption in the area.
The incident was reported at approximately 5:52 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Grand Ave. According to early dispatch information, the sedan was left blocking traffic following the impact. The driver, who was reported to be bleeding from the head, was treated at the scene by emergency crews before being transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities worked quickly to manage the crash site, as the presence of the large commercial vehicle and the damaged sedan contributed to traffic delays in the surrounding area. Phoenix police are leading the investigation into the cause of the crash and have not yet released details on contributing factors or whether any citations are expected.
Motorists were advised to use caution in the area during the morning commute as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and restore normal traffic conditions.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we hope for a full and swift recovery.
