Phoenix, AZ (January 19, 2026) – One person sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident early on Wednesday morning at the intersection of 35th Ave and McDowell Rd in the Maryvale neighborhood. The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m., prompting a swift response from Phoenix Police and medical personnel.
A Toyota sedan and a semi-truck were involved in the collision, which happened under circumstances still being reviewed by investigators. According to officials, the sedan suffered significant damage upon impact. The driver of the Toyota was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition after receiving emergency care at the scene.
The operator of the semi-truck was not injured and remained on-site to cooperate with authorities. At this time, no citations or arrests have been made. Police confirmed that impairment is not believed to have played a role in the crash.
