Why Rollover Crashes on Freeways Can Be So Severe
Rollover crashes on highways often involve higher speeds, which can increase the force of impact. When a vehicle tips or rolls, occupants may experience multiple impacts inside the vehicle as it overturns.
Even in single-vehicle crashes, factors like sudden steering input, tire issues, or road conditions can contribute to a loss of control. On busy interstates, traffic flow and lane changes may also play a role in how quickly a driver can react.
When multiple passengers are involved, injury risk can rise significantly, especially if seatbelts are not used properly or the vehicle rotates multiple times before coming to rest.
