The northbound lanes were shut down for several hours while crews worked at the scene and have since reopened. The incident remains under review by authorities.

Why Stopped Vehicles on Highways Can Create Dangerous Situations
Vehicles that come to a stop on highways can pose serious risks for other drivers. High-speed traffic often leaves little time to react, especially when a stopped car is not expected. This can increase the chance of rear-end crashes, which are common in these situations.
Limited visibility at night can make it even harder for approaching drivers to see a stopped vehicle in time. Curves in the road, poor lighting, or traffic congestion may further reduce reaction time.
Keeping hazard lights on and moving a disabled vehicle out of travel lanes when possible can help lower the risk. Drivers are also encouraged to remain alert and maintain safe following distances to better respond to sudden changes ahead.
