What Is Commonly Reviewed After a Two-Vehicle Highway Collision?
Two-vehicle highway collisions are usually examined by reviewing the direction of travel, vehicle positions, and traffic conditions leading up to the contact. Investigators may also assess roadway markings, visibility, and whether either driver attempted to avoid the collision.
Vehicle damage, tyre marks, and debris patterns can help establish how the vehicles came together. Information about seat belt use, weather, and roadway conditions is also considered when evaluating the circumstances. By combining these findings, investigators can reconstruct the sequence of events and better understand how the collision occurred.
