Ellerslie, MD (August 10, 2026) – An 80-year-old Ellerslie man was critically injured after he was thrown from a pickup truck during a crash on Route 35 on Saturday, August 8. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m.
The 80-year-old truck operator was flown by helicopter to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for treatment. A juvenile driving the second vehicle was also injured and taken to UPMC Western Maryland with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Route 35 was closed for approximately four hours following the crash. The collision remains under investigation as officials work to determine how it occurred.
