What Risks Are Common in Motorcycle Crashes on Highways?
Motorcycle crashes on highways can result in severe outcomes because riders have less protection than drivers in enclosed vehicles. At higher speeds, even a minor mistake or sudden change in traffic can have serious consequences for a rider.
Highway conditions, such as lane changes, merging traffic, and road surface issues, can increase the risk of a crash. Riders must remain alert to surrounding vehicles, while drivers are encouraged to stay aware of motorcycles that may be harder to see in traffic.
Protective gear, including helmets and proper clothing, can help reduce the severity of injuries in a crash. Visibility and reaction time are also key factors, especially on busy roadways where traffic patterns can shift quickly.
