The Risk of Multiple Injuries in Rear-End Collisions
Rear-end crashes frequently occur when a following vehicle fails to slow down in time for traffic that is stopping or turning ahead. Intersections and areas where drivers prepare to make left turns are common locations for these types of accidents.
When a vehicle is struck from behind, the force of the impact can push the stopped vehicle forward and cause sudden movement for everyone inside. Even at moderate speeds, passengers may experience injuries such as whiplash, head trauma, or back injuries.
Crashes involving multiple passengers—especially families traveling together—can quickly lead to several injuries at once. Maintaining safe following distances and staying alert to turning vehicles ahead can help reduce the likelihood of rear-end collisions.
